About Dogwood Virtual School

Dogwood Virtual School launched its virtual school at the start of the 2024–2025 school year, offering a third learning option alongside its traditional in-person and blended academies.

DVS is a fully online school available to students in grades K–12* across North Carolina. This optional program gives families the flexibility of a virtual learning experience while maintaining high academic standards.

Instruction is delivered through a mix of live (synchronous) and independent (asynchronous) online learning. Students are required to attend live lessons daily, no matter where they are, and receive academic support from their online teachers and Learning Coaches. The curriculum covers core subjects—English, mathematics, science, and social studies—aligned with the North Carolina course of study.
